The work of Cicero comprise one half of the prescription of the seen texts for the oral exam of this year's Latinum Europaeum.
Selections from the Verrine Orations will be used to evaluate the contribution of Cicero to Latin literature and his place in Roman history. We shall study the context, themes, and motifs of the work alongside his use of language, and rhetorical techniques (alliteration, assonance etc.).
The following are required texts, although individual teachers across the sections may choose to read other poems in English or in Latin to broaden their students' understanding of this important author:
